I suppose there is some lesson or twelve in there somewhere. We love each other, but neither of us will change how we fold clothes &#8211; neither of us will bend.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps the lesson is:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>when something doesn&#8217;t matter much, it doesn&#8217;t matter much how you do it<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Hmmm, let&#8217;s try to apply that to work. I have seen people at work make much of things that don&#8217;t seem to matter. For example:<\/p>\n<li>Tell building security the license plate of your car, or else we won&#8217;t pay you this week.<\/li>\n<li>Don&#8217;t cross the street in front of the building, walk down the block to the corner crossing, or else&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Put your wet umbrellas in the basket in the lobby, or else&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>Be in the office by 9AM local time, or else&#8230;<\/li>\n<p>These are not made up silly examples. They are from real life. They are equivalent to me telling my wife, &#8220;fold clothes my way or else fill-in-the-blank-with-something-serious.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Sounds pretty silly when I write that.
