Sometimes we should assign one person. We already know that, so why don’t we do it?<\/strong><\/p>\n There is some old cliche about<\/p>\n too many cooks in the kitchen<\/p><\/blockquote>\n or too many cooks stirring the pot or something. There is a a current cliche about<\/p>\n too many people in the room<\/p><\/blockquote>\n I head the one about too many people just last week at work.<\/p>\n Now we do out of cliche and into management. There are many tasks where a group of people can reach a consensus on a topic. They express the consensus in bullets. Then the group leaves the room and leaves on writer or creator or artist to create the product.<\/p>\n Looking back at the above cliches, it is evident that we know this. So I have to ask,<\/p>\n Why don’t we leave the room and let the one person work?<\/p>\n Now I come to the bad part of this post. We<\/em> won’t leave the room because we think we are the exception. We<\/em> won’t succumb to the failings of the too many<\/em> wisdom.<\/p>\n Our ego beats us.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Walking out the door and letting one person finish the work is the most difficult part of the task.<\/p>\n Now that we realize the challenge, let’s get to it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" by Dwayne Phillips Sometimes we should assign one person.
