We already know that, so why don&#8217;t we do it?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There is some old cliche about<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>too many cooks in the kitchen<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>or too many cooks stirring the pot or something. There is a a current cliche about<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>too many people in the room<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I head the one about too many people just last week at work.<\/p>\n<p>Now we do out of cliche and into management. There are many tasks where a group of people can reach a consensus on a topic. They express the consensus in bullets. Then the group leaves the room and leaves on writer or creator or artist to create the product.<\/p>\n<p>Looking back at the above cliches, it is evident that we know this. So I have to ask,<\/p>\n<p>Why don&#8217;t we leave the room and let the one person work?<\/p>\n<p>Now I come to the bad part of this post. <em>We<\/em> won&#8217;t leave the room because we think we are the exception. <em>We<\/em> won&#8217;t succumb to the failings of the <em>too many<\/em> wisdom.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Our ego beats us.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Walking out the door and letting one person finish the work is the most difficult part of the task.<\/p>\n<p>Now that we realize the challenge, let&#8217;s get to it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by Dwayne Phillips Sometimes we should assign one person.
