A myth. Here is one of the explanations. Sorry if this exposes what you wear under your kilt.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There is a shortage of&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>qualified programmers<\/li>\n<li>qualified analysts<\/li>\n<li>qualified engineers<\/li>\n<li>qualified qualifiers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>that is why we want more fill-in-the-blank-with-magical-government-magic.<\/p>\n<p>Listen to what companies say: &#8220;We can&#8217;t find qualified fill-in-the-blank-persons.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>True statement. Note, the company representatives didn&#8217;t say, &#8220;Qualified fill-in-the-blank-persons don&#8217;t exist.&#8221; They merely can&#8217;t find them.<\/p>\n<p>Now we are moving closer to the problem. Sorry if this offends you:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Companies have trouble hiring persons.<\/p>\n<p>Big companies have big trouble hiring persons.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Here is a <a href=\"https:\/\/aphyr.com\/posts\/340-acing-the-technical-interview\">link to a &#8220;joke&#8221; interview process<\/a>. The joke is this isn&#8217;t a joke. Interviewers ask questions like this and don&#8217;t understand the answers they receive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Answer:<\/strong> Let persons who actually understands what they need in an applicant converse with the applicant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> the above answer does not:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>use the word &#8220;interview&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>involve a recruiter<\/li>\n<li>use a standard interview script<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>But this is a pollyana world that does not exist. No one can afford to have working fill-in-the-blank-persons step away from their jobs to converse with fill-in-the-blank-persons applying for jobs.<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps. Perhaps that is merely an excuse.
