The Raspberry Pi A+ is now on sale for only $20. I continue to call for a Nobel Prize for its inventors.

Mozilla launches the Firefox Developer Edition.

Facebook's Messenger now has 500 million users. The definition of sucess has changed.

Now that Microsoft Office for the iPad is free, it is at the top of the sales charts.

Google officially takes control of operations at Moffet Field in San Jose.

Smartwatches: it isn't the watch, it is the data that companies will turn into cash.

5billion things will be connected to the Internet next year. Here come the hackers!

AT&T changes its mind and won't move into the in-flight WiFi market.

And now we have the Cobot: a less-capable robot made far more capable by human assistance. Simple, excellent idea.

Apple opens an office in Cambridge—the one in England, not New England.

And Amazon is expanding its office in the same Cambridge.

A European spacecraft is about to attempt a landing on a comet. Note: this was not done by NASA, the American group that once led the world in space exploration.

More on how computers (software) are eliminating jobs in the office.

But this post shows that the humble proofreader is more needed than ever.

This is a brilliant idea. Cold in your apartment? A German cloud company will be a rack of servers in your place. They get floor space and you get heat.

Twitter announces a new world domination strategy that no one really understands. It is amazing how you can string together a bunch of real words and not make any sense.

Microsoft launches Visual Studio 2013 Community edition: an unlimited free edition.

Microsoft will open-source .NET and make it work work OS X and Linux.

These and the free Office for iOS etc. means that Microsoft has changed significantly in only a month.

Aurora: Amazon adds a big relational database engine to its web services.

Steve Ballmer donates $60million to Harvard's computer science department. Good for him, but can't some of these rich guys give their money to colleges that don't already have a $36BILLION endowment.

Facebook introduces "Say Thanks." Send a video greeting card to a friend.

The latest MS Windows 10 preview shows touchpad gestures.

Android 5.0 goes to Nexus users today.

Everyone on the Internet is applauding the DJI Inspire One $2800 drone.

Google donates money to the Turing Award so that it is now $1million.

Facebook's newest data center in Altoona, Iowa is now online.

People seem to have lost interest in Google Glass.

Mark Cuban on Ayn Rand and net neutrality.

An excellent use of technology: helping people to communicate with only their brain.

Big companies like Ford, Visa, UPS, and Bank of America are quietly advocating net neutrality.
